As a reflection of the culture cultivated by entire civilizations ever existed in Anatolia, illumination art continues to develop through interpretations and compositions of new generation of artists. This unique design of Dilara Yarci Diniz was composed of rosebud motifs, stylizing cross sections of flowers, and penç motifs stylized in a bird’s-eye perspective. The one of a kind design was embroidered on linen through genuine labor of professional hands under the supervision of the renowned Gülten Oktay, a leading expert at embroidery techniques in Turkey in just over two months. The design, dense in terms of green tones and enriched with earth tones of the Mother Nature, exhibits the harmonious dance of blue and golden tones, commonly used in illumination art during 16thcentury.
